About Fika on Brix Fika on Brix is a well-established brunch café located in Beckenham, WA. We have been proudly serving our community for over nine years and, during that time, have only had two Head Chefs. We are open 7 days a week from 7:00am to 2:30pm and are known for our Asian fusion brunch and genuine hospitality. Our current Head Chef is leaving to pursue a completely different career path, creating an opportunity for the right person to join our team. The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced and motivated Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and continue building on the strong reputation we have established. This role would suit someone who enjoys the fast-paced nature of a busy brunch venue, takes pride in leading by example, and is looking for a long-term position they can truly call home. Weekend trade can be very busy, so experience working in a high-volume café environment is essential. Key Responsibilities Lead, mentor and develop the kitchen team Maintain high food quality and consistency Manage kitchen operations and service standards Create and develop seasonal menu items and specials Monitor food costs, wastage and stock control Manage ordering and supplier relationships Rostering and labour management Ensure food safety and compliance standards are maintained Foster a positive and professional team culture Skills & Experience Previous experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a busy café or brunch venue Strong leadership and communication skills Ability to remain calm and organised under pressure Experience managing food costs, ordering and stock control Passion for quality food and hospitality Strong understanding of kitchen systems and workflow Ability to work effectively within a multicultural team Reliable, positive attitude with a long-term mindset What We Offer A leadership opportunity in a stable and established business Daytime hours only – no night service A supportive owner and management team that genuinely cares about its people Creative input into menu development A team culture built on respect and collaboration Competitive salary based on experience Additional Information Both weekend days are preferred, however some flexibility may be available for the right candidate.
